As the summer weather starts to fade, we are seeing riders head indoors and compete in the fiercely competitive racing series that will run for the next 12 weeks. The Fall Indoor Racing Series kicked off with the Original Time Trial this week, so let’s see who came out on top!
It was Jay Menning from the Peak Centre Vancouver who set a personal PB and broke the 38 minute mark with a 37:59 in the Men’s A category. Will he be able to keep that number 1 position secured for the rest of the series? We will see… One thing is for sure, there are some quick riders chasing him closely. There was a real fight for 3rd place this week as Alex Troy and Kit Wellburn battled it out, with the former coming out on top by just 2 seconds! In Cat B, Rick Cordes (SBR Coaching) takes the plaudits this week, followed closely by Dan Giberson (Natural High Fitness), Todd Hounsell (Peak Centre Vancouver) and Brent Robertson (Natural High Fitness)!
In the Women’s cat A, it is Suzanne Cordes from SBR Coaching, Verona who has taken the lead, clocking a time that many will find hard to beat; 45:35. Shannon, Katrina, Jenny and Jodi from Natural High Fitness however, will be looking to encourage each other and ruin Suzanne’s party at the top. SBR Coaching seems to have taken over the Women’s categories as Rebecca Yi leads the B category after the first week with a time of 46:16! Her competitors will be stepping it up next week though so don’t get used to life at the top Rebecca!
That’s it for this week’s round up! Good luck with stage 2, riders!
