19th November

This week’s Rolling stage proved a tough challenge for all riders but it seems as though the status quo has been restored; Jay Menning (Peak Centre Vancouver) is back on top of the leaderboard! He blitzed through the course in 39:08, despite having to briefly stop due to a mechanical failure…twice! Hot on his heels was Kit Wellburn (Peak Centre Vancouver) who clocked in at 38:27. The man who finished in first place last week, Sean Anderson (SBR Coaching Verona), grabbed the bronze medal position with a time of 38:34. Felix Young (University of Bath Uk) raced for the first time this season and narrowly missed out on a podium spot.

In Men’s Cat. B Marcel Lavoie (Peak Centre Ottawa) continued in fine form after his impressive display last week, finishing in first place with a time of 40:15! Tom Ronneng (Peak Centre Vancouver) produced his best performance of the season so far, finishing in second place with a 40:43, meaning that he slips into second place in the overall rankings. Bill Martin (SBR Coaching Verona), the newcomer who finished first last week, managed a third place finish this week with a 41:11. Dan Giberson (Natural High Okotoks) creeps into first place in the overall classification, despite only finishing in fifth place in this week’s stage.

In Women’s cat. A, only three riders raced this stage, meaning that each of them were guaranteed a podium spot. Calah Wright (Peak Centre Ottawa) took maximum points once again this week and is slowly climbing up that overall classification. Shannon Winslade (Natural High) and Sindy Hooper (Peak Centre Ottawa) finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively, with the former completing the course in 47:09 and the latter in 52:03. In Women’s Cat. B, riders looked to take full advantage of the fact that leader, Rebecca Yi (In Training San Ramon), was not able to ride the course this week, thereby not collecting any points.  Newcomer Barb Sweeney (Peak Centre Vancouver) took first place this week, closely followed by Megan Davies (Peak Centre Vancouver), who is now in 3rd in the overall classification. Marni Hutchinson (Natural High Okotoks) claimed third place with a time of 50:31, whilst there was only 1 second between 4th placed Lucette Laflamme (Peak Centre Ottawa) and 5th placed Sheri Cayouette (Peak Centre Ottawa)!
