In Men’s Cat. A, it was the boys from Bath, Uk who dominated at the top this week. Jake Hollins put in a massive effort and finished in first place with a crushing 35:25. Felix Young managed to secure a second place finish with a solid 36:44, with Sean Anderson (SBR Coaching) taking the final podium position with a time of 37:22. Jake Hollins (Bath, Uk) also took max points for the King of the Mountain Leaderboard with a huge 4.27 average watts/kg., whilst Shawn Willis moves into first in the overall KOM points leaderboard. After spending 10 weeks on the top of the general classification, Jay Menning (Peak Centre Vancouver) has dropped into 2nd place, now equal on points with Michael Holtz (Peak Centre Vancouver)! Shawn Willis will be delighted, as he moves into 1st place with only 1 week remaining! In Men’s Cat B. Rick Cordes (In Training, San Ramon) takes first place for the first time since he laed the pack in stage 8. John Forsyth (Peak Centre Vancouver) will be hoping to continue on a great performance this week, clicking in at 38:28, meaning he claims second place. Marcel Lavoie (Peak Centre Ottawa) has been a real threat since he has started to race regularly and once more makes the podium with a time of 38:33. Paul Comeau (Peak Centre Ottawa) and Alain Brunette (Peak Centre Ottawa) also deserve an honourable mention as they finished in 4th and 5th respectively. Rick Cordes takes max points in the KOM leaderboard, meaning he stays in first place. Although Joe Haimowitz (Peak Centre Ottawa) may not have had the best average watts/kg this week, he finishes in second place in the KOM leaderboard, with Dan Giberson (Natural High).
In Women’s Cat A. Calah Wright (Peak Centre Ottawa) continues to impress with an outstanding 40:07 in this week’s hilly stage. Shannon Winslade (Natural High Okotoks) and Katrina Podmore (Natural High) finished in second and third respectively, with Sindy Hooper (Peak Centre Ottawa) taking 4th place. It was the same ranking for the King of the Mountain points in this group, however in the general classification, it is Shannon who leads with Jennifer Buck (Natural high) and Calah Wright (Peak Centre Ottawa) who are closely behind her. In Women’s Cat B. Megan Davies (Peak Centre Vancouver) only finished 13 seconds behind the first placed Rebecca Yi (In Training San Ramon), who also took max points in the KOM leaderboard this week. Vivian Lee (Peak Centre Vancouver) had the second highest average watts/kg despite finishing 5th whilst Elle Twentyman (Bath, Uk) had the 3rd highest average watts/kg and had the third fastest time in this category this week.
