Stage 2 Report:
With the race series now in full swing, this week was anticipated to be an exciting race.
With some new additions into the race it meant that a shift in top stops was seen.
In the Men’s race, a super stage results from Jeff Orr (40:32, Endurance Reno) meant that he moved up from 5th in last week’s time trial to a podium position this week (3rd). Ryan Krauss (39:59, Natural High) maintained his form to produce the second fastest result and hold on to the coveted top stop in the General Classification. This week’s stage winner was Mark Sherboneau (39:40, Peak Ottawa). With less than a minute separating the top three it certainly looks like its going to be an exciting season of racing.
On the Women’s side, Britta Samuels (Endurance Reno) improved her stage position from third to first with a great ride of 46:24, and fellow Endurance Reno athletes Andrea Giles (47:00) only 36 seconds behind. Taking the final podium position this week was new entrant Lisa Sachsalber (Peak Ottawa, 48:02) who denied Endurance Reno a clean sweep of the top spots. However, the General Classification is still very much dominated by Endurance Reno – with Andrea, Britta and Kylee Cederwall (49: 41, Endurance Reno) holding off the opposition as the series stands.
Good luck with Stage 3, keep up the great racing!
