Peak / RWR Winter Indoor Racing Series – Stage 7 Results

On the first long course stage of the RWR/ Peak Winter Series, Marc Boudreau continued his campaign to overtake Warren MacDonald in the Overall GC when he posted the fastest time of 1.00.01.2. Marc was the only rider to come close to the hour mark on tough 36.69km course that brought strength and endurance into play. Going into the stage, Warren held a comfortable 24point lead in the GC standings until a minor mishap and some strong riding from Marc reduced the lead to 9pts at the end of the day. With 10 races left in the series, the championship is still up for grabs with multiple riders in still in the game.

In the woman's field, Sue Schlatter had another impressive ride to take the win and 6th place overall on the stage. Her win captures the leaders jersey away from Tenille Hoogland who held a slim 3 point lead going into the stage.

While the battle for top GC spots played out, the "ride of the day" for stage 7 goes to 15yr old Lindsay Anderson who averaged 23.1km/h on her way to a time of 1:15.06.6 that placed her solidly in the top 5 of the women's field.
